Hi I'm Whitney

I was born and raised in Arizona, I'm a nursing student, I'm a wife and mother of 2 cute girlies, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 25 year old wife and mother of 2. My little gals are Ari and she is 3 1/2 years old and has Down Syndrome and my other sweet girl is Keira and she is almost 2 years old and has such a strong personality. When I'm not chasing them around, I am working on homework for nursing school. I currently work as an aide in a pediatric hospital and can't wait to be finished in May to take on the nursing role! I just started a very small business selling hair flowers and custom bow organizers and that's more of my fun time doing something I enjoy. I love to work out and be active! Soccer is my favorite sport, running is a great stress reliever, and camping/hiking in the Arizona mountains is an amazing breath of fresh air! My husband and I were blessed and got to quite a bit of traveling together before we had our daughters and I look forward to more traveling in the future. Seeing the world and taking in other cultures is so intriguing! I do love home though and will admit that we ate at McDonalds while in Barccelona, Spain and Rome, Italy :)

Why I am a Mormon

I was born of goodly parents who taught me the gospel of Jesus Christ and raised me as a Mormon. When I became a teenager though, my testimony was shaken and I decided I wanted to stop going to church and do other things. Years later, I met my amazing husband. We were both living on the "wild side" even after being raised in Christian homes with good values being taught. One thing we knew for certain is that we loved each other and wanted to be together forever. We knew we needed to start doing things the right way with the prospect of marriage and children in our future. We started reading the Bible together starting in Matthew and decided to start exploring options for churches we wanted to attend. My husband was always non-denominational Christian and although I was raised in the Mormon church and leaned toward that option, I was open to exploring options together. My husband happened to be working with amazing guys that took the time to explain the doctrines of the Mormon church and the closeness of the Bible and the Book of Mormon. He was amazed to see that they weren't different at all and they actually supported one another in testifying of Jesus Christ. We studied together and his testimony of the Book of Mormon was born and mine was rekindled, but in such a different way. Although I had learned these things as a young person, it was so different learning it completely on my own and choosing for myself to understand it and embrace it wholeheartedly. We called the missionaries and had them come teach us. Shortly after that, we joined the Mormon church and I could not be happier about that decision.

How I live my faith

Learning about the Mormon faith again and learning how to live it continues to be a daily learning experience. I have participated in many different callings in the church. I just changed from being a teacher for the "Sunbeams", which are 3-4 year olds, to helping out with the teenage girls. I'm excited for this opportunity to share my testimony of Jesus Christ and my experience with finding out the true importance of the gospel in my life, especially since this was the time at which I stopped going to church and applying the principles taught. There are days I feel challenged and my testimony gets tested, but I know that this church, this gospel and all the principles therein are founded by Jesus Christ himself. I know that my husband and I are sealed for time and all eternity, not just married until death do us part. I know the eternal plan and that helps me understand and keep an eternal perspective on life. Life is not just about the here and now, but rather what we do with the here and now that will help us obtain our eternal and heavenly goal - to be back with our Heavenly Father again with our families. It's a daily choice to live in faith and I am so thankful for the knowledge I have and the understanding of Jesus Christ and the things he taught. I am thankful for and I know we have an actual living prophet on the earth today that is the mouthpiece of our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I know that together the Bible and the Book of Mormon testify of Christ and give us precious truths about eternity. I know that with this church and it's principles, there is also priesthood power real and true that can baptize, bless, heal, seal families for eternity. I am so thankful to KNOW that my family is eternally sealed forever and ever as long as I live my life worthy of that blessing!
