Hi I'm Wendy

I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a native Texan who has been married to my best friend for 16 years. I have three amazing boys, my treasures! I have lived in Tucson (go Arizona Wildcats!), Philadelphia, New York, Colorado, & Utah. I enjoy learning about people, playing tennis, eating peach cobbler, watching documentaries, reading, taking photographs, rainstorms, & spending time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were converts to the church so I grew up in a Mormon family. I had a great childhood and was shown each day of my life Christian principles. Actions speak louder than words and that is exactly the example I had growing up. There was a point though that I had to decide if I thought the church was true. I had that moment as a teenager. After studying the scriptures, asking questions, & praying I knew this gospel was true. It was a feeling that confirmed this to me. I felt it then & have felt it many times throughout my life. These confirmations are why I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints & live the way that I do.

How I live my faith

Right now I am blessed to work with the youth ages 12-18 yrs old. They are awesome! What a joy it is to be around youth who desire to be good & righteous! We meet once a week for an activity, on Sunday for lessons, & other days each month for dances, larger activities, or uplifting talks. I also have four special women I get to visit monthly. We share our lives with one another & offer support. Our family also attends activities that include our entire congregation. We take turns cleaning our church building & participate in the scouting program & service projects. On Sundays we attend church, study the gospel, & spend time with our family. I also live my faith by trying to follow the example Jesus Christ set for us. I know that we are all children of God. Each one of us is special and loved by our Heavenly Father regardless of who we are or what our situation might be. Prayer is important to me & part of my day. I pray personally and our family prays together morning and night. I know that my prayers are heard b/c I have received distinct & personal answers. I study the scriptures & try to implement the things that I read into my personal life. What a great source of wisdom. Finally, I try to listen and follow the counsel given by our living prophet and his apostles. What a great gift this is & I feel strengthened each time I listen to them speak.
