Hi I'm Holly

I grew up in Texas. I am a daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Texas but have lived in Colorado, Greece, New Mexico, Idaho, Utah, Portugal, and California. I am a GIS (Geographic Information Systems) Analyst. I love spending time with my family and friends. I love maps, geography, traveling, dancing, hiking, snorkeling, cooking/baking, reading, genealogy, college football, and spoiling my nephew.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Church. My wonderful parents and grandparents taught through their examples to love and serve one another. Yet I had to find out for myself that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true. I have always found comfort in knowing that I am a Child of God. I know where I came from, why I am here, and where I am going. I am thankful for the Prophet Joseph Smith's courage and testimony. I know that he was a prophet that restored the Church of Jesus Christ to the earth in these latter days. I am grateful that the Church has prophets and apostles to give guidance and direction during this journey we call life. I am grateful for trials and challenges that have made me who I am. During the most difficult times, the gospel has brought peace, hope, joy, and comfort. I know that the healing power of the atonement can help me overcome any trial or challenge. I know that our Savior, Jesus Christ loves us. He has engraved us on the palms of his hands. He will never forsake or abandon us. He atoned and died for us so that we can be forgiven and live with Him again. I am grateful that I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God, Heavenly Father loves me, and Jesus is the Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by remembering that we are all children of our Heavenly Father. I am not perfect yet I try to be kind and loving to everyone. I have had several opportunities to serve in the Church including teaching children ages 3-8, organizing dinners, and planning events. I go to Church on Sundays and attend Institute, a religion class, during the week. I try to spend some time everyday reading the scriptures and praying.
