Hi I'm Mike

I am a retired pediactric L.P.N. My wife says I living my second childhood, because I am a Star Trek geek, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a returned missionary, a science fiction buff, I enjoy anything Star Trek or Star Wars. I do impressions of cartoon characters, especially Donald Duck. My other intrests are old movies anything from the silent movie era to the 1960's & anything with John Wayne. My wife says I 'm reliving my second childhood because I'm such a si-fy geek, and enjoy watching cartoons. I am a retired L.P.N. with 30 years experience in pediactrics. I come from a family of 7, myself, three brothers, & three sisters. I am a husband, a father of two girls & one grand daughter. I Ride horses & love animals.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because it gives me a focus that I lacked growing up. It taught me I have a purpose, a way of living, a direction for my life to go. Being a mormon, has helped me in my nursing career in that because I know who I am, where I am going & what becomes of all of us when we leave this life behind, that I can leave families with hope in this life & the life to come.

How I live my faith

I am a donate my skills as a nurse to health organizations, I have worked in free clinics. I have taught sunday school, I am a home teacher, I have served in various callings given to me. I do not smoke, drink liquor, I am faithful to my wife & family. If I see someone in need I offer help, even if it is only to listen. I attend church each sunday as well as speak in church when asked to do so. I read my scriptures each night, & pray for guidance in all that I do. I give my testimony to others of why I am a mormon, that God lives, that Jesus is the Christ, & that this is church, & that we have had & do have living Prophets today.

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Mike
The answer for me is very simple, God has given all to me, my life, family. He has given his only son, even Jesus Christ, the way to happiness in this life and the life to come. He has given me a way to be with my loved ones in the next life if I but follow his ways. He's answered my prayers, giving my wife back to me when doctors 8 years ago told me that my wife only had 6 months, maybe a year to live because of a brain tumor. He has blessed me with two beautiful, bright, daughters & a granddaughter. The list goes on and on and on......... In short he has given me everything, and all He asks in return is a small amount in return to the building up of HIS Church and Kingdom, so that all peoples may have the blessings that await them.....
