Hi I'm George

I'm a diplomat for my country and have lived in Europe and Asia. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the father of three children. I grew up in the Northeastern United States, but live overseas now. I serve as a diplomat and have lived in Europe and Asia. My family and I love to travel and experience new cultures. I studied economics in college and enjoy learning new languages. I love the outdoors, hiking, running, and water sports.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a community where I was one of just a few members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Nearly all of my classmates and friends were not of my faith. I did, however, have parents who taught me the gospel from my youth and set an example of faith in God through prayer, scripture study, and service. My knowledge and faith grew little by little over time, and while in college I decided to serve as a missionary, teaching the gospel and serving others in Southern California. On my mission, I had many wonderful experiences that solidified my faith, my testimony, as I witnessed this gospel of Jesus Christ change many lives, and touch many people. I have continued to develop, through many personal experiences with prayer and with inspiration, my testimony of the Savior, Jesus Christ, of His atonement for all the world, and of the wonderful, loving, plan our Heavenly Father has for all of us. Through these experiences, the gospel of Jesus Christ has become the core of my guiding principles.

How I live my faith

I served as a missionary for my church in California, and since then have had opportunities to serve in a variety of positions. I have worked with the youth, have taught missionaries preparing to serve all over the world, and have helped organize many activities and programs in the church. In my family, in addition to going to church regularly, we study the scriptures together every day, and have family prayer morning and night. One night a week we have family night, where we spend time together singing, coordinating our schedules, and having a lesson on a gospel topic. In my personal life, I strive to study the scriptures, pray regularly, and live a clean and charitable life. Jesus Christ is the standard for my life, and its a constant effort to try to follow His example, apply His teachings, and live the way I know He wants me to live. He is the living Christ, not just a figure of history, but a real, living, divine figure to whom I can turn to everyday and draw strength from in every moment, no matter the challenges I face or wherever I am in the world. He is real, and I am doing my upmost to draw closer to Him, for there is no greater work that I could do in life than follow Him and live His gospel.
