Hi I'm Diana

I'm a wife, a mom, a grandmother, a sister and a daughter. I was born and raised in Northeast Indiana. I am a Mormon

About Me

My name is Diana. I am 61. I have been married 35 years. I have 6 children and 5 grandchildren. I have a sister and a brother who has passed away. I love pretty things especially crystal. I like geneaology, quilting, flowers, cats I have 4 and dogs I have 3. I have 2 children and a grandchild who lives with us. I have a Down Syndrome son and my sister is handicapped. I like helping people and enjoy listening to everyone. I grew up in a small town in the Summer and came back to the city for school. I worked for 16 years at GTE. I struggle to keep my house clean. I am overweight but working on it. I feel very lucky and happy to be alive and at the time and place I am.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I just knew there had to be more. I attended the Church of Christ with my Grandmother and Great-Aunt. As a teenager I stopped going. I was never baptized because it just never seemed to be right for me. As a college student I rented a room from a family that happened to be Mormon. I saw what a family could be like. They never tried to convert me. I saw up close and personal how they lived their lives and raised their family. It was thirteen years after I met them I decided to join the church. I realized they had the kind of life and faith I wanted to have. I was married when I decided to join the church and I had to get my husband's permission. The church will never do anything to cause contention in a family. My husband was very ok with this decision. I was baptized when I was 29. The next year our first child was born. I found something that I could believe in and a faith that I could live every day. I have read and studied and I know this is the way Jesus would want me to live. I know this is the right place for me. I have prayed and I know this is the true Gospel of Jesus Christ. I'm not a joiner. I'm a very strong-willed independent person. I have now been a member fot 33 years. I have never regretted it. It is my whole life.

How I live my faith

I have been a nursery leader, a librairian, a cub scout leader. I have helped organize monthly visits for all the ladies in our ward. I visit 6 ladies each month. I have grown to know and love these ladies. I have grown with each calling I have had. I am by nature a shy person. I have come out of my shell a lot since I joined the church. It was 30 years before I gave my first talk in Sunday meeting. I go to church. I read my scriptures daily. I try to do what is asked of me. I pray continually for guidance. I try to help others and love them no matter who they are or what their circumstances might be . We are all children of a loving Heavenly Father.
