Hi I'm Sarah Ishmael

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hello, Im a convert who loves doing family history work! I am a college student who is majoring in Early Childhood Education. I love to scrapbook, journal and meet new people.

Why I am a Mormon

It started with a knock on the door... the missionaries talked to my father. I was about 12 or 13, I didnt know what was going on and also im a daddy's girl, so I sat at the table with them while they talked. A few years later, my previous church desided the youth were going to learn about other religions. When it came to the "mormon lesson" I remember thinking that the things they were teaching about the LDS church wasnt how those two missionaries said it to my dad so I stood up for them. Soon leaving that church and threw numerous other visits to other churches I found the true church. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I began the lessons with the awesome elders and praying asking if this church was the true church and being confirmed that it was, I got baptized July 23, 2011!

How I live my faith

I have three callings in the church; YSA activities committee chair, Relief Society teacher, and keeping the YSA bulletin board up to date. It's crazy how well God knows us and the abilities we have and/or need to work on. the callings I have are great. They have helped me become closer to the gospel in ways I would have never expected. I love how the church is ran from the members, FOR FREE!! It just shows how much people believe in the church. No other church that I've attended has been ran like ours and that is something special to me. When the members are faithfully participating in the church and their callings anyone can see how true this church is.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Sarah Ishmael
That is a very simple answer. If you truly want to know if Mormonism is true, all you have to do is pray and ask God! My suggestion: -Get in contact with missionaries in your area (you can do that through Mormon.org). These missionaries will help you with any questions you have. -Actively visit the church closest to you. -Take the lessons given by the missionaries. They will teach you the principals of the church. -If you don't have scriptures, ask the missionaries for a Book of Mormon and Bible (they are free!) Study the Book of Mormon along with your Bible. Pray before and after you study the scriptures to help you understand what you have read. -Be aware of promptings and guidance of the Holy Ghost. Some people describe this as peaceful feeling of inspiration. The Holy Ghost is a part of the Godhead; Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Following the Holy Ghost is one was we can have direct guidance from God. -Finally, ask God is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true. I know it takes a lot of work to ask such a simple question but I promise it will be worth it. I am a proud Convert! Show more Show less
