Hi I'm Rick

I'm a father of 5, I am an orthodontist, I love to Mountain Bike and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like to exercise, I like to mountain bike enjoy snow skiing, fishing, backpacking and any other activity outdoors that I can drag any and all of my kids with me to do. I am an orthodontist and love to make people smile. I have been married for 15 years, have 5 kids and love life.

Why I am a Mormon

There are so many different religions, and so many different Christian religions. Many of these religions help one to become better, more kind, patient, honest, charitable etc. I was raised in the LDS church however I have always had the freedom in my life to explore any religious path that interested me. Exploring and studying different religions and faiths has been enlightening however after careful study and conversations with the Lord in prayer it became evident to me that embracing the gospel of Jesus Christ is truly the only way one can find lasting peace in this life and prepare for the life to come. Being LDS has given me a moral foundation that helps give me stability, happiness and a calmness that is irreplaceable

How I live my faith

I have worked with the youth in the LDS church for the past decade. It is a challenging world out there. Popular media tries to convince young an old alike that, morality is old fashioned, honesty is relative, a responsible lifestyle is boring, rules are made to be broken, limits are to be pushed, parents our out of touch etc etc. This type of thinking doesn't seem to be equipping our youth with the tools to effectively manage the real world challenges that come their way. When I am not working on making great smiles in my orthodontic practice, I like to think I am helping our youth smile by teaching them to understand there are better ways to live than what popular media portrays. That while having guidelines, boundaries, and self discipline may be challenging to deal with. In the long run you will be happier person living within the guidelines and boundaries the Lord has set. He wants you to be happy, have self confidence, be at peace. Exercise faith. Do what he says and see what great things happen in your life. I try to teach my kids the same thing. They are small . . . and getting bigger all the time. For now life consists of being an orthodontist, raising a family, working with the youth and exercising in the great outdoors. I love it, and wouldn't have it any other way.
