Hi I'm Blake.

I grew up in the Pacific Northwest. I enjoy extreme sports such as big mountain skiing and downhill mountain biking. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I currently work as a professional sales consultant for a global medical device company, specifically in orthopedic sports medicine. I have a passion for sports, solving problems, and helping others. I enjoy traveling. I have been to Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Spain, France, Austria, Slovakia, Poland, Morocco, Mexico, Grand Cayman, and Canada. Learning about new cultures is something I find very fascinating. Lastly, I enjoy a good adrenaline rush and I am currently looking for my next adventure. I have been sky diving, heli-skiing, and bungee jumping. However, my most exciting adventure to date, is raising my new daughter and spending time with my wife; who also happens to be my best friend.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a Mormon, but wouldn't say I fully accepted to live my faith until my late teens. Through a lot of prayer and reflection, I came to understand that the lessons I had been taught many times as a youth were indeed true and could lead me closer to my Savior. One of the greatest evidences to me of the truthfulness of this Gospel is the joy that comes from living its precepts. I observed that joy and peace in my family growing up and I see that joy in raising my own family. More so, when I choose to live in accordance with the principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, I feel closer to Him and my Father in Heaven. That gives me reassurance that I am on the right track; my life seems more clear.

How I live my faith

Most recently, I have been asked to serve as an adviser or counselor for the men in our local Church unit. I visit regularly with individuals and families, many times with those that are experiencing some sort of adversity. Sometimes these challenges are more spiritual such as a someone struggling with a particular Gospel principle or the loss of a loved one. Sometimes the challenge is more temporal such an individual looking for work. In addition to my responsibilities listed above, I work with other Church leaders to organize events and activities for people of our community and Church. Serving in this and other capacities has blessed my life by teaching me valuable skills and helping me have empathy for others.
