Hi I'm Audrey.

I love to laugh. I love people. I love my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a border town in Arizona. I enjoyed playing tennis, dancing, playing the flute, and being very involved in school activities. I attended 4 different colleges and was in a band & jazz dance group in one, and on a ballroom team at another University. I married at age 23 & was expecting while still in college. But I didn't want to leave my baby so I finished my degree through correspondence courses, while having 2 additional babies, homeschooling, sewing, scrapbooking, and all that comes with family life! I love to learn, especially about health and nutrition. I love experimenting in the kitchen with healthy recipes & I love teaching others how to improve their health. Over the last few years I've enjoyed trying clogging, ballet, and yoga classes. I'm currently enrolled in classes to become a Certified Holistic Nutritionist. I plan to continue taking classes about herbs, essential oils, & other ways & means to be healthier! I love exercising with my husband, or children and just hanging out with them. I enjoy getting to know people & seeing their God-given gifts and talents!

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to be born into a Mormon family. I was the 4th of 10 children! Each of us was dearly loved & together we were taught the principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ, by word AND example! I began to recognize spiritual feelings in my heart when I was 12 years old. I regularly studied scriptures, prayed daily, and continued to recognize those spiritual feelings that confirmed in my heart that I truly belong to Jesus Christ's church; that He leads us through a living prophet today, along with other church leaders who receive inspiration to teach and help us follow true principles. Through the witness of that spirit, I know that Joseph Smith was called to restore Christ's church, after it was taken from the earth for a time (due to Jesus Christ's apostles being killed during New Testament times). Joseph Smith had a very hard life but he endured all of the persecution & hatred because he knew he was on a mission -called of God, and there was no way he could deny the revelations he was given, without coming under condemnation. I know He was a prophet like Moses, and we are so blessed to have had prophets ever since, to lead & guide us according to God's plan for us. I have so much peace & joy in my life because of this spiritual knowledge that I have. Living the gospel saves so much heartache in life. And even when things are tough....like when my "twin" cousin I grew up with was shot as a young mother, or when my Dad died when he was only 53 & I still felt a strong need for a dad, or when my 19 year old brother died of cancer, or when my down syndrome baby brother only lived for 7 months......even during these heartbreaking times, I was able to feel peace, and trust in God, that he sees the big picture, and that he had a plan for my family members, and that he has a plan for each of us.

How I live my faith

One of the great blessings of my life has been to give of my time & talents to different organizations in my church. I've worked with little children, worked with teenagers, taught the women, & organized events for young adults of the church, as I served on a college religious board. I've organized girls' camps, planning activities to help them learn & grow & prepare for their future, and also helping them develop leadership skills. All of this has helped me develop talents & learn more about myself, and the gifts God has given me. It has also helped my husband & I grow closer together as we've served together in many ways including teaching English classes on behalf of our church, for the Hispanic community. I'm trying to become more involved politically, to become informed & to uphold the Constitution of the United States in whatever way I can. The past couple years I've been a coordinator for a whole foods co-op. I've enjoyed getting to know people from many walks of life through that. I also spend time counseling and teaching people with health issues who need to learn about nutrition! I've organized classes & potlucks & taught groups of women, monthly, on how to use new & different whole foods. Last year, I got to organize my Grandpa's family reunion for about 100 of us!! It was a joyous time to gather, sing, pray, eat, dance, play volleyball, do skits, perform talents, and just visit & catch up! I've also organized community homeschool co-ops for families & events to help bring homeschoolers together & provide a support system for parents. Through all of these things, I feel God's hand in my life and I know that he is leading me & inspiring me. There is a deep abiding peace that comes through this, and a greater knowledge of how very aware he is of His children. I'm so grateful for that and for God's support in every area of my life! My life is truly enriched through my membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints!

Who are the Mormons?

Practicing Mormons are Christians who are imperfect, yet striving daily to become a little better at following the teachings of Jesus Christ! These teachings include His required ordinances so you will find Mormons being baptized by immersion, and going to temples to make further covenants with God, and to be sealed together as families so we can be together in the next life!
