Hi I'm Todd

I'm a Mormon from Las Vegas, Nevada. Yep, Las Vegas. I served a mission in Rome, Italy. And, I love to fly sailplanes and fish.

About Me

I served in the United States Marine Corps, and subsequently chose a career in State law enforcement. During my career I had the opportunity to serve as a detective in Homeland Security, as well as several other sensitive assignments. I enjoy flying R/C sailplanes and fishing. Any kind of fishing...But, mostly fly fishing. Well, and deep-sea fishing...Okay, any kind of fishing! I also enjoy photography.

Why I am a Mormon

My testimony is very simple. I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when I was sixteen years of age. Because the Gospel just made since to me. The truths of the restored Gospel and the validity of the Book of Mormon were evident to me, even at that young age. I understand that it may not be so clear and/or easy for others to believe. We are all faced with different challenges in our lives. Different upbringing and circumstances that form our perceptions and how we process our beliefs. I am and was no different. However, if you are truly searching for an understanding of Gospel truths, your answers are no farther away than reading the Book of Mormon, with an open heart and mind, and kneeling down in simple, yet sincere prayer and asking your Heavenly Father for a conformation of the book's truth. And by extension, a conformation that the Church of Jesus Christ has been re-established here, on Earth, and that we are all privileged to receive revelation through a modern day prophet. I know, it seems a little far-fetched. But, it isn't. That's the beauty and simplicity of truth. We are all entitled to it. We just simply have to ask our Heavenly Father, in faith, that we WILL receive an answer to our prayers. Now, that conformation may not come immediately. You may have to ask, in thoughtful, meaningful prayer, a few times. Several times. But I promise you, your prayers, your questions will be answered. But, you got to want it. Your prayers have to be sincere.

How I live my faith

I have the opportunity to teach the young men and women of our Church during Sunday School. I look on this opportunity as a privilege. Unfortunately I have seen what awaits them (all of us), as a community, as our collective society appears to be collapsing all around us. I enjoy having the opportunity to hopefully stand as a mentor for our youth and through the lessons of the Gospel, help them avoid those pitfalls that seek to insnare all of us, and in return, I am uplifted by their examples and their strength of character. That's how it works. We all support each other.
