Hi I'm Jim

I'm a Mormon. I grew up outside the Church but was baptized my last year of high school. I am a public school educator.

About Me

I am fifty-eight years old and love my life. I live in a beautiful area with lots of recreational opportunities and fine people - both in and outside the Church. I enjoy swimming, kayaking, canoeing, and hiking as well as acting and singing. Life has been good to me and I have a beautiful family. We have one daughter left at home and get to visit with children and grandchildren over much of the Western USA. I served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Southern Germany (Baden Wuerttemburg and Bayern [Bavaria] and still love the country and its people immensely.

Why I am a Mormon

The simple answer to why I am a member of this Church is that I put it to the test of prayer and fasting and Heavenly Father let me know that it is true. A fuller answer is that I had the opportunity to observe members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints living their religion and felt a joy from them I had seldom, if ever, seen. This prompted me to want to study the church and learn what made it - and them - tick. When the missionaries taught me about the organization of the church and about Joseph Smith's Vision of God, the Father and Jesus Christ I felt a peace and joy I had not experienced before. As I prayed about the things I was being taught, I received a witness they were true. I knew then that I must join myself to these people.

How I live my faith

I want you and everyone else to know that I am proud to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ. I try to live my life with integrity and honor. I know I stumble at times, but I keep pushing forward through it all. I believe in service to others and loving those I work and play with. I am an active part of my community.
