Hi I'm Jessica

I grew up on a farm and am now a senior in college studying international relations, hoping to travel the world. I am a Mormon!

About Me

Growing up in a big family, I was always surrounded by my best friends. And as I have grown up I have learned that my siblings are still my best friends. I am now in college studying international relations and will be graduating in a few short months. Recently I just returned from traveling abroad in Central America and my hope is to take what I have learned from my family and from my university and take it all over the world.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up in the church I kind of did what I did because it was what everybody around me was doing, but now that I have gotten out of the house I have come to realize why I am a Mormon. I am Mormon because I know that Jesus Christ came to this world and established a church, he taught how much he loves all of God's children so why wouldn't he reestablish that same church in these latter-days? This gospel gives me the answers to the questions of why we are here, why we go through trials, and how we succeed. I love going through out my day and knowing that we are never alone. That we will never be forgotten by our Heavenly Father and that we loves us. He wants to see us succeed, He wants to see us with our families again, because that is what true love is all about.

How I live my faith

The way I live my faith is one step at a time. I don't do anything super big, that causes waves of attention, but I try to do little things everyday to show my Heavenly Father that I love Him in return. I start every day with a prayer, and I keep that prayer in my heart. I do my best to befriend the down trodden and to always have the light of Christ with me. I am a instructor at church and that truly lifts me up. But I feel that living in your faith is in the small and simple things that we do without even thinking about. My dad is the perfect example of this, whenever I talk to mom she always tells me something that dad is doing. Whether it is helping a woman get a new tire for her car, being a friend to a young lady or never really had a father figure in her life, or being kind to everyone around him. When I grow up I want to have the same impact my father has had on the people around him. I am so proud to be his daughter.

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Jessica
Everything we have in this life is given to us by our Father in Heaven, so we dedicate just a mere 10 percent of what we earn to Him. Sometimes it does seem like a lot, I am a college student and I live paycheck to paycheck. But I am able to gain an education because of faithful tithes payers all over the world, so giving just a little back each month is my way of saying thank you to them and to Father in Heaven who has given me EVERYTHING!
