Hi I'm Bill

I grew up living next to the Mormon church. I was 28 years-old when I realized that what I was searching for was just next door.

About Me

I am a brother, a son, a husband, a father, a Young Men's Leader and a Scouter. I enjoy the outdoors. I enjoy hunting, fishing, camping and hiking. I also like to play basketball. I like fixing things...when something breaks I always try to fix it before throwing it away or taking it to someone else to fix. I used to be an avid down-hill skier in my youth doing all sorts of crazy things.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a teen I was searching for something that was missing in my life. I grew up living next door to the Mormon Church. Little did I know for 28 years, that what I was searching for had been right next door. What I found was Jesus Christ and a loving Heavenly Father. Individuals that I had never really known before in my life. I found faith. I found values and standards to live by that made me a better person. I found a life of service. Service that allows me to strive to become more perfect, like my Savior, even Jesus Christ. I found the Priesthood, the priesthood of God that has been restored to the earth. Priesthood, priesthood power, which has blessed me and my family. I'm a Mormon, because I am a witness to the Savior's atoning sacrifice for me, as he has carried, protected and blessed me and my family throughout our trials and tribulations. I have had the privilege to have been an instrument in Heavenly Fathers hands to bless the lives of others whom have been in the need of blessings from our Heavenly Father. I'm a Mormon, because of the moral values and standards that are held high for us and our children. Values and standards that are uplifting to one's spirit and Heavenly Father. I'm a Mormon, because I have testimony that Jesus is the Christ and that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, our Heavenly Father, and that he (Joseph Smith) was an instrument in Gods hands in restoring the church that Jesus Christ established on the earth. A church that teaches principles, values and standards that are for the good of all man-kind. I'm a Mormon, because "we believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things." (The 13th Article of Faith)

How I live my faith

I live my faith, by attending church every Sunday, by praying to my Heavenly Father, by giving thanks and offering my gratitude to a loving Savior, who atoned for my sins. I live my faith by striving to become a better person, a better husband, a better father. As a husband and father, I teach my family to strive to be better and to follow in our Savior's footsteps, to have love, compassion and charity for everyone. I currently serve in our ward (congregation) as a leader in our Young Men's (Youth) organization. I have served the youth of our church as a Boy Scout Leader for almost 18 years, working with Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Varsity Scouts and Venture Scouts. I have had the privilege of helping many of these young people grow into valiant young men and adults.
