Hi I'm Jorgen

I am an Eagle Scout. I love to sing, act, read and play video games. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a lot of things in my life, from an affable actor to a quiet bookworm to an excitable singer to a gregarious geek to a college student. But the most important and defining characteristic in my life is that I am a Mormon. I have been in several musicals, and have always played the child parts. I am not a large person, and I do have that sort of child-like personality. I love to read, mostly fantasy and science fiction novels. I have been in several choirs in my life, at school and at church. I especially love the Christmas season and caroling. It is just such a fun thing to see someone's reaction to a group of caroling teenagers full of energy and life. I love seeing off the wall sort of things, like plush bacteria and Newton's Cradles. I am what you might call a geek, but in the best sense of the word. 7/8/2012 I am now serving a mission, and I am going to Costa Rica, San Jose to serve for 2 years. This is going to be an awesome time for me, for my testimony has grown so much in the past few weeks.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are both LDS (Mormon), and since I was born into this family, I have always been a part of this church. I have had wonderful parents who taught me about the gospel, and I soon learned a lot about the Gospel. But for a while, I was living on borrowed light, or the testimonies of those around me. I believed because they believed, not because I believed. So I have, ever since I realized this, tried to test these things for myself. As I have, I have had prayers answered in miraculous ways. I have become a better person. I do good things of my own free will, and I am happy. The Book of Mormon, for one, makes me happy when I read it, for it gives spiritual light to me, and shows me the way I should go. The Book of Mormon is true. The prophets in our time have given us knowledge from on high. This includes Joseph Smith, who was an instrument in God's hands and restored Jesus Christ's Church upon this Earth. This church does so many good things, which shows that it is true, for "by their fruits shall ye know them." "For whatsoever is good cometh from Christ."

How I live my faith

In my church group, (also called a ward), I have been given several assignments, and I am glad for them. I have the assignment of calling people and reminding them about the ward's service and welfare assignments that they are assigned to. Me and another guy get to go teach two families in the ward on a monthly basis. I am grateful for both of these opportunities because they both open my eyes to the people outside of my own family. Right now, I am going to serve a mission in Costa Rica, San Jose, for two years. This is going to be so incredibly awesome!!!
