Hi I'm Tyler

I live in Arizona and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Utah. For the past 4 years I have been living in Arizona. I come from a family of 5 brothers and I'm right in the middle with 2 older and 2 younger brothers. I am married to a wonderful wife and have 4 awesome children! I love to spend time with my family and enjoy the great outdoors like camping, working in the yard and working on projects around the house. My family is the most important thing in my life and I cherish the relationships I have with them. I love being a father and husband and teaching my kids about the world around them. The gospel brings me much happiness and I want to share that with my family and others.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church and was always happy with my upbringing and what I was being taught by my parents. But there comes a time where you have to discover for yourself what you truly believe deep inside. I needed to stand on my own and find out if what I had been taught was really true. For me this happened right about the time I was getting ready to serve a mission and dedicate the next 2 years of my life as a missionary for the church. Did I really believe all of the things I had been taught? I knew I wanted to serve a mission because I believed it was the right thing to do at that time in my life. But it wasn't until I was actually out serving as a missionary that my faith was really tested. I had a really hard time standing before people (and in a foreign language mind you) and expressing from the heart that I knew these things were true. How could I convert others to the gospel of Jesus Christ when I hadn't been truly converted myself? I prayed with real intent and opened my heart to my Heavenly Father for help to know the truth. The answer was undeniable that it was true. From that time I have never turned back from the answer I received. I love the understanding that you can receive from church teachings like where we came from, why we are here and where we are going after this life. The knowledge that we can live after this life and be together forever as families is something that brings me great peace and happiness. I've had too many experiences throughout my life that confirms to me that God has a plan and has an interest in what I am doing. I'm so grateful for this knowledge!

How I live my faith

Right now I serve in the youth program of the church, specifically with the young men ages 12-13. I recently completed leadership training in the boy scouts program. Part of being a youth leader involves participating fully in scouting and helping the boys develop a great love for God and country. I love the scouting program and the core values that it teaches. I hope that in some way and I can be an good example to these boys and make a difference in their lives. Plus it gives me a chance to enjoy the great outdoors and explore so many wonderful things that are out there!
