Hi I'm Jessica

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a newlywed and pursuing my undergraduate degree in Justice Studies along with a Human Rights Certificate. When I have the time, I love to scrapbook, especially wedding pictures! I also like to cook when I have time but I'm still working at getting better at that. I work part time at a plasma donation center with my husband on the days I'm not at school. We spend most of our free time visiting family close by or getting together with other couples we know.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a recent convert and was drawn to the church because I realized the gospel changes people for the better. There is a noticeable difference in someone who follows the gospel of Jesus Christ and someone who doesn't. Even before I knew what it meant to follow the gospel, I knew people who did were different. I noticed how they acted toward others, their attitudes, their honesty, kindness, and humble demeanors. They had higher standards for themselves and they treated their families with love. I had encountered several great examples of people who lived by His gospel and I wanted to learn more about it. Everything that I learned when meeting with missionaries and attending church and talking with members I knew was true because I had seen others live it. My testimony was strengthened as I started developing my own relationship with Jesus Christ, feeling forgiven for the things I had done wrong in the past, and was baptized and confirmed. My life has only been more and more blessed as I've kept the covenants I've made with Heavenly Father at baptism and had the amazing opportunity to be sealed for eternity to my husband in the temple.

How I live my faith

In my church I have helped serve with the full-time missionaries (whom the church are famous for) sharing my testimony of the gospel, answering questions, and joining people at church who have never gone before. Just recently my husband and I started teaching Sunday school lessons to the 5 and 6 year olds in our ward and we are super excited about that. Although we are lucky if we finish the lessons, they have the attention spans of 5 and 6 year olds!
