Hi I'm Sean

I grew up in New Mexico on a horse ranch. I work as a research technologist for a biofuels research company.I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Husband, a son, a father, a friend and a member of a very large family. I grew up around horses, living in a very small town. I played sports in High School and after High School I joined the Navy to serve our country. I travelled many places and was blessed to see the world. I went to college and have a certificate for a Materials Science Technician. I have worked for National Laboratories and also for private corporations in support of science and research. I enjoy the great outdoors, including hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, boating, kayaking and photography. I have a side business for wedding photograpy and potraiture. I really enjoy cooking and grilling and surrounding myself with good friends and good foods. I have three sons, one that is a teenager. I spend as much time as I can with them and we enjoy many of these things together as well as playing basketball.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church and it was always a part of my life. When I left home after High School I tried things without the church for a while as young people often do. I didn't realize at the time how important it is in everyday life. I always knew the gospel was true and believed in the Savior - but my own selfish wants dominated my life in my youth. After many years of wandering the world by my own wisdom, I realized what I was missing and I came back to the church. The difference is literally like night and day. I feel so blessed to have the Holy Spirit in my life to guide me and comfort me in times of trouble and struggle. As I listen to the Prophets and Apostles who guide this church I receive confirmation of the truths of which they speak; especially when they testify of our Savior, Jesus Christ. I am a member of this church because I fully believe in the gospel and I have a humble testimony that by trying to be more like the Savior I can return to my Heavenly Father in the next life.

How I live my faith

In the church I have served in Youth Advisory presidencies and as a youth Sunday School teacher. I have participated as an adult leader in the church's Boy Scouts program and enjoyed camping and serving through that great program for young men. Currently, I am the assistant ward clerk in charge of finances; a calling which I greatly enjoy. I attend church meetings and I am a member of the Elder's Quorum - which is a branch of the priesthood. We have families assigned to us in our local areas that we are responsible for; so as a holder of the priesthood I get to serve these families as well as look for service opportunities in my community. I have served in the Marine Corps Toys for Tots programs as well as other charities.
