Hi I'm Susan

I'm a Mormon. I'm a single mom of 2 kids - with one serving a mission in Mexico and the other in College in Southern Utah.

About Me

I am a mother to 2 wonderful kids. My daughter served a mission in Puebla Mexico and returned Nov 2015. She took time out of college to serve and teach others what she believes. My son is working hard and going to school. He will be graduating early and is working on a degree in communications. I went to college to become an interior designer and graduated in 2010. I worked for 4+ years helping senior retiree's with design. I now travel the mountain western states promoting windows and meeting with architects. I like playing and watching tennis (particularly with my son). I enjoy lots of different types of music. James Taylor is my top pick! I like independent films - particularly well made foreign films (not R rated). I like to travel and explore........and really appreciate nature and its' beauty. I am originally from California and it is my favorite place to visit. I think it would take more than a lifetime to see everything there is to see there. I enjoy the radio show Car Talk and other NPR programs. I also like House Hunter's International on HGTV as I love to see what houses look like around the world. I look for great restaurants around where I live or travel to. The places don't need to be expensive just hole-in-the-wall or highly rated. Overall I like trying new things and am very adventurous :). As a family we like to joke around a lot, eat together, play games, and just enjoy spending time together.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and baptized at the age of 8. My dads family came across the plains with the early pioneers. My mom was converted in High School in Colorado. They met at BYU, got married, and had 10 kids. We were raised going to church every Sunday, praying, reading the scriptures, and following the teachings the best we could. I really new the church was true when I asked for myself in prayer to my Heavenly Father as a teenager. I received a confirmation that Joseph Smith was a prophet and the Book of Mormon was true. That wasn't the end of my learning. I continue to study and learn day by day the things that I'm to know. I make mistakes and repent of them and move on - knowing I've truly been forgiven through the atonement of Jesus Christ. I'm so grateful I have a way to start anew and have my errors removed. I know the Church of Jesus Christ is the true church - no doubts whatsoever.

How I live my faith

I attend my Sunday meetings and work in various callings that are given to me. I am a visiting teacher and visit a few women each month to make sure they are well. I pray, read scriptures, do service for others and try to set a good example of choosing the right for my children.
