Hi I'm Sam Perkins

I love Ultimate Frisbee, mango icecream, and roller coasters. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, my name is Sam Perkins from Colorado, but originally from Australia. I have lived in the states with my family since I was 8, but for some bizarre reason, I have managed to keep my Australian accent. I love life and I try to live it the fullest. Each day I learn something new about myself and discover, in many ways, that the lord has been in my life. Through a series of miracles, I have spent the past 6 months saving money and preparing for my future. At the time I was 100% sure what exactly I was preparing for, but I soon found out. I have been called to serve a mission for the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints and I will be serving gods children, in Rome, Italy! There I will be inviting people to come unto Christ and having faith on his atonement, being baptised, repenting of sins, and receiving the holy ghost. I owe everything to my father in heaven, and the very least I can do, is serve a mission for him, and help his children return to him. He loves us all so much and wants every single one of to be happy in this life. I know this to be true.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church so I've always grown up with the teachings and doctrines of the church. But, everyone, born into the church or not, has to have their own conversion. I've always had a firm belief in the gospel due to childhood experiences, but I was about 17 when I went through my true conversion I suppose. One summer, I picked up my book of Mormon and I started reading and trying to really think about what I was reading. Hours would go by because I would be so engrossed in what I was reading. Every page, every word that I read was so powerfull and I was overcome with such peacefulness and calmness and a clarity of mind. By the time I finished the book, I had no question as to whether this book was true. I knew it. Something had touched my soul in such a way, that words can hardly describe.

How I live my faith

The best way to tell someone or show someone how I live my faith is to act. I try my very best to stand as a witness of god at all times, in all things and in all places. I try my hardest to listen and understand those around me whether or not they are of my faith. I know that god loves all of his children equally, and so should I.
