Hi I'm Ricky

I am going to school to become a high school English or Spanish teacher. I'm happily married with 2 boys. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I work and go to school full time. I have a beautiful wife and 2 boys (one 2 1/2 and the other 1 month old) and love them very much. I love the outdoors. I enjoy to hunt, fish, camp and anything else outdoors. I love sports, both playing and watching. I like to work and work hard. I love to learn new things. I am majoring in Secondary Education with endorsements in English and Spanish. I served a full and honorable mission in the Spain Las Palmas Mission from 2004-2006. I loved it there very much and the people I came to know. I like to interact with people and am outgoing. I want to be a teacher because I want to inspire others to become the best they can be and to be able to spend as much time possible with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I honestly am a Mormon because I have taken the opportunity to find out for myself if this gospel is true. By the relationship that I have developed with my Heavenly Father and by the confirmation of the Holy Ghost I have come to the unmistakable realization that this is His one and only church upon the face of the earth today. I know that it was founded by his Son, Jesus Christ and restored in this dispensation of time by the latter-day prophet Jospeh Smith. I have a deep and reverence love for Joseph Smith for all that he has done. I know that by the power of God and through the Holy Ghost he translated an ancient record that goes hand in hand with that of the Bible, The Book of Mormon. I know undoubtably that this record is not only the keystone to this religion but is fundamental in building a deeper and more substantial relationship with our Savior Jesus Christ and ultimately with our Father in Heaven. I know that families can be together forever throught the Plan of Salvation which was laid out before the foundations of this world. There are many things in which I don't know nor have answers to but this I do know of a certainty; and that is that God loves His children (you and I). He is aware of us and what is happening to us on a daily basis. He has not forsaken us and though times may prove to be difficult at times we are not alone nor are left helpless. It is also important that we know that though we are affected by others exercising their agency; it is not God that treats us badly or leaves forsaken and broken. He loves us. Through the infinite atonement of our Savior Jesus Christ we can return to our Father in Heaven with our loved ones. I love this gospel and it makes me and my family happy. Our faith pushes us forward and our love for eachother and for our Savior and Heavely Father pushes us heavenward. These things I testify are true.

How I live my faith

I believe greatly in the power of example. I try the best I can to emmulate the way in which the Savior lived his life and try to aline mine as much the same as possible. Live your religion/beliefs. Don't merely profess them. There is power in doing so.
