Hi I'm Matt Johnson

I was adopted from South Korea when I was 10 months old. I love fitness and challenging my abilities and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was adopted when I was 10 months old from South Korea. I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I served a mission in Seattle, WA. I am now 24 years old and working full time. I enjoy being active and having as much fun as possible. The gospel is the central aspect of my life. I love meeting new people and just sharing laughter and helping in anyway possible to easy burdens that they may have.

Why I am a Mormon

It has been a long road for me to be able to answer this question. Growing up I continued to make poor choices in my life. I was the most unhappy person, in fact those around me would say that I was a happy person. But I know that inside I was never as happy as I could be. Lucky for me I have always had good friends who have prayed for me and helped me gain a true testimony. Sooner or later in life I think we all have a time where we question our happiness, or feel lost. I have gotten to this point before. I felt like I had let down family and friends. I soon felt like I could never be forgiven for my sins. I believed that the Atonement of Jesus Christ could work for others, but unfortunately just wanted to accept that I would never make it. After talking to friends and family I was moved to ask God for forgiveness. For once in my life I had felt like I was truly forgiven for all of my sins. I felt as though there is now hope. I felt the love in which my Savior Jesus Christ has for me. I for once felt peace in my life. I felt like I had truly found happiness. I knew that although I was lost I knew that the Savior had found me on that path and not just given me his hand, but had picked me up and lifted me upon his shoulders. Knowing that it is never to late to ask for forgiveness, you can never be to far gone to come back to him. As I turned to the Book of Mormon and prayed for the Lords help to give me strength and a desire, I found immediately the Lord did not wait to hear my call for help. I am a Mormon because God and heard and answered my prayers. He has helped guide me in my life and gave it direction when I needed it most. I'm Mormon because he answered my prayer to tell me that these things are true! That his gospel has been restored back to this Earth. There is a better life for us and a plan set before us. I am Mormon because I have a loving Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live by faith by always trying to be someone who everyone can feel like they are accepted. It doesn't matter who or what you do I try to look at everyone equally. I try to look for opportunities to allow people to feel the love that their Heavenly Father has for them, by doing small acts of kindness and showing each person that I do care about them. I do this because I know that we are all God's children and he cares about us all. I look for ways to share the gospel with all those around me. I know that the majority of people have a belief in Jesus Christ. Helping them to know there is a deeper understanding of what he has done for us through the atonement, is such a blessing. I have been able to help a lot of members in the church. I have helped strengthen their testimonies and help grow their relationship with their Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ. Through service in the church I have been able to relate and feel the same love that God has for them. The gospel continues to help me be a better person to all those around me. To all those I meet I know I can enjoy just getting to know them and learning from them, and just enjoying a good laugh and sharing smiles.
