Hi I'm Bryce

I quit my corporate job 11 years ago to be a stay at home Dad and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

in 2000, my wife and I were the parents of two young children and working full-time jobs. We both held managerial postions and work was very demanding of our time and energy. My job more so than my wifes. I was rarely home, working 6 days a week. I arrived at the office by 5:30am and came home most of the time after the kids were in bed. That year, my wife proposed a crazy idea I had not given any real credence to until that time. During a morning prayer, she mentioned the idea of ME staying at home if she could not. In my mind, I immediately said "No way" but the still small voice inside said otherwise. I felt complete peace with the idea and knew it was the course I should follow...but I didn't tell my wife that, yet! I pondered and prayed about the idea all day. I knew it was the right decision. A day or so later I asked my wife her thoughts on the matter. She confirmed what I had felt and here we are now 12 years later.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saint or "Mormon", because of my desire to follow truth, whereever it lead me. I desperately wanted to know if the Gospel or Religion I had been taught in my youth, was indeed the restored Church of Jesus Christ. The entirety of that question hindged on the Book of Mormon. I knew that if it was true, then the Lord had continued his pattern for revealing truth as He had done in the Old & New Testaments by calling prophets again in our day, the latter days. I knew that I must not only do my part to find out the answer to my question but then follow the path of receiving that answer. It would not be enough to know, I must then do. I also knew that no man or woman could convince me, prove to me, or show me it was true. I knew the answer would only come from God. I believed in a Heavenly Father and believed that He heard my prayers. I believed that IF I really did my part, with true conviction of heart, He would answer my prayers. So I did as the ancient prophet Mornoni had instructed one must do to know if the words were truly those of Jesus Christ, found in the Book of Mormon in the book of Moroni chapter 10, verse 3-5. I read, pondered, and prayed about what I had read. Through doing so, I felt the answers come, not in a vision or audible voice but through feelings and thoughts, peace of mind and spirit, an overwhelming feeling that you know only comes from God.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith day by day - with the thoughts I think, the words I speak, and the actions I take. Jesus Christ is my model and mentor. He leads me by His example and by the example of others that follow in His footsteps. He leads me by His words both ancient and modern day through His servants, the Prophets.
