Hi I'm Steven Ray

My name is Steven Ray. I am a father of 6 wonderful children, my Wife's name is Angela. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Steven. I have a wonderful family of six children, three girls and three boys. My wife's name is Angela. Our family lives in San Tan Valley, Arizona. I am an educator, and have been a Special Education teacher since I graduated in 1996. I served a mission in Japan and also studied the Japanese language while attending college. I taught Japanese in High School for seven years--while also teaching special education. I have worked for many years with the Boy Scouts of America and have completed many exciting backpacking trips, including a 5 day backpacking trip through the Paria Canyon in Northern Arizona. I enjoy participating in family activities and watching our six children grow and progress in life. Our life is centered around our family and teaching our children about the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family of parents who are Mormon and went to church every Sunday. I grew up attending church and learning the teachings of the Mormon religion. I remember my parents teaching me about Jesus in our home and reading from the Book of Mormon. I knew the teachings I was learning in my home and at church were good things. I remember on evening my dad showed the family a movie about Joseph Smith called, "The First Vision." I was young--maybe 10 years old. I remember after seeing that movie that I distinctly remember feeling that Joseph Smith's story was true. This experience led me to read and pray about the Book of Mormon, I believe it it true, this is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I think if I had to put how I live my faith into one word it would be prayer. I believe that there is a God in Heaven who loves us and cares about us, and as I pray to Him, he listens to my prayers and helps me in the decisions I make in my life. I know that he hears what I am praying about and he blesses me, because of this knowledge, I try my hardest to keep the commandments.
