Hi I'm Katie

I am the lucky mother of 4 wonderful kids, a suburban housewife and love traveling to tropical islands. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My family and I recently moved across the country for a new job and we are enjoying getting to know so many new wonderful people and places. I enjoy snuggling with my kids, capturing beautiful pictures, and baking yummy treats. I enjoy jogging outdoors, vinyasa yoga, watching movies as a family, and playing in nature with my kids. We love to roast s'mores around the fire and go to the beach. My husband and I love to laugh together, travel together, and find delicious new restaraunts to try. We spend lots of our time watching our kids play soccer, cleaning up clutter, and correcting homework, but we are having the time of our lives watching our kids grow and seeing who they will become. I feel so grateful for each day that I am blessed to live, love, and learn by relying on my Savior Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel of Jesus Christ has given me an eternal perspective that I carry with me in all that I do. Life is so beautiful and the gospel gives me so many assurances of the love of God and his Son, Jesus Christ. But at times, life can be so difficult and we are faced with pain and burdens that we are not sure how we will manage. The eternal perspective that I have gained through a testimony of this gospel allows me to learn and grow from the challenges of life with an assurance that my Heavenly Father knows me and loves me, and that my Savior Jesus Christ atoned for my sins and my sorrows. My faith keeps me focused on what matters most and my testimony reminds me to feel and express gratitude for all of the joys of life. Knowing that my marriage is eternal and that my family is forever is one of the sweetest joys that I could ever ask for. I am so grateful also for the gift of the Holy Ghost that was given to me at the time of my baptism. Personal revelation through the Holy Ghost has been such a comfort to me throughout my life. It has been an amazing blessing to have this companionship to guide, to comfort, and to direct. So many times my prayers have been answered in such a powerful way with an answer that was just for me, for that exact moment of my life. Many times it has reassured me that I am loved and remembered by the Lord and sometimes it just teaches me simple truths that I couldn't have seen on my own. It is so comforting to know that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and that each one of us are a child of that same God. I love to learn about how He blessed his people in the Old and New Testament and I am grateful that He has restored His church to the Earth today with living prophets and Another Testament of Jesus Christ, the Book of Mormon. I am a Mormon because I have been given a confirmation from the Holy Ghost that the Book of Mormon is true. The joy that comes from living this gospel makes life beautiful and eternal!

How I live my faith

I am currently serving in the church by planning and organizing weeknight meetings for women to attend that help us to enrich our lives. We learn, give service, and build friendships through these events and always try to eat delicious food! I try to teach my children from the scriptures daily and hope to give them a testimony of the power of prayer through praying as a family daily. I love to observe the Sabbath day by attending church meetings, listening to beautiful and uplifting music, and spending time with my family uninterrupted by the normal concerns of the week. Each day I hope that the love that the Savior has given to me is apparent in the way that I live. For me, living the gospel is not a sacrifice. It is a gift that blesses my life with strength, joy, and faith that I cannot imagine living without. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ!
