Hi I'm Kaelene.

I am an independent woman who married at age 40. I love to laugh and sing, mostly with little children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of 7 children. I am a graphic artist who works in Human Resources, but studying to be a kindergarten teacher! I love little children and all of the honest and amazing things that come out of their mouths. I love to create memory making experiences with my nieces and nephews. And then, scrapbook the photos that have recorded our memories. I am married to a wonderful man from Colombia. We don't yet have any children together, but we are hoping for some in the future. I speak Spanish fluently; I love the beauty of the language, and the simplicity of the spelling. I have been enamored with Spanish since I was a small child. As soon as I could start taking Spanish classes in Jr. High, I did. I love to read, watch movies, take walks with the men in my life - my husband and our dog, color with the children in my world and sing.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the whole truth of who Jesus Christ is and what He represents for me is available through His church. I know that He died for my sins and that He did so with so much love in His heart. Without hesitation He volunteered to follow God's plan and serve as our Savior. I know that because our Heavenly Father is a just and true Being, He speaks to prophets today, just as He did in ancient times. All of His children are entitled to know His will for them, at any given time. Therefore He has a prophet on the earth today, to keep us in line with His will. I have read the Book of Mormon and prayed about its truthfulness. Not only is it a second witness of Jesus Christ, but as a companion to the Bible, it can help clarify things that have been lost from the original writings of the Bible, as it has been translated and retranslated. I know that it is a spiritual account of the people who came to the Americas many years before Jesus Christ was born. Because of the understanding that I have of God's plan, I can say that I know that Heavenly Father loves me and wants me to be happy. He answers prayers; He has answered many of my prayers. He loves His children, whoever, wherever they are.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by keeping my focus on helping others whenever I can. I serve in the organization for children, of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I also serve as a visiting teacher. This is God's special job for women in the Church. We look after one another, keep up with how we are doing, and share spiritual messages that uplift. Being a visiting teacher gives me an opportunity to make friends with women that I may not otherwise associate with or even spend time getting to know. Heavenly Father takes care of His children by having those of us who are willing take care of those who are in need. I live my faith by striving to be a good example to others. I do my best to find the positive side of every situation. I also do my best to stay away from media (television programs, music, movies, etc.) that put unclean images in my view or cause me to have thoughts that are not uplifting. My life's philosophy is that Heavenly Father wants us to be happy and to learn from our experiences in life. Why, then, should I not find as many things to be happy about that I can?
