Hi I'm Sarah

I am a mother of 2. I am a graduate student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I truly believe that nothing is more important than education. I would love nothing more than to be a professional student and have endless learning opportunities! As I complete my final year of graduate school I look forward to a career as a speech language pathologist which will allow me to continue to learn new things every day! I have an incredible husband and two beautiful children that teach me new things everyday. It has been because of my husband and his job that we have had amazing opportunities to live in beautiful places like Hawaii and South Africa. It was during those times that I learned the most about God, myself, and humanity.

Why I am a Mormon

Although, I was born and raised in an LDS family, I can honestly say I truly converted as an adult after having my own children. My childhood provided a strong foundation of the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, however, there was a period in my teenage years and early twenties that I abused the gift of free agency and chose to live a life away from the gospel. It was during our time in Hawaii that I personally experienced a spiritual awakening. I had been going to church for a year or two before we moved to Hawaii, but only for the sake of my two children. I had not allowed myself to open my mind and my heart to the spirit. When we moved to Hawaii, I knew the only way we would make friends is if we attended church. Not only did we make friends but we extended our family tenfold! We were surrounded by spiritual giants in the form of regular people. It was through their examples that my husband and I, both individually, began to search for ourselves if the church was true. Never in my life had I ever felt the spirit so intensely. I could not doubt that what I was feeling was the love of my Heavenly Father and the promptings of the Holy Ghost. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ is the true Church of Christ. That through His teachings we can become like Him. That the gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored to the Earth in its entirety. That through the Atonement of Christ, I can return to live with my Heavenly Father again. That through the blessings of the temple and the ordinances performed within, I can live with my family forever!

How I live my faith

I always find it interesting that the roles and responsibilities I have held in the church are usually intended to teach me more than I can teach others! My favorite "job" is anything that involves the youth of the church! It's amazing how much one can learn when they spend time with 5 year olds! Not only do I learn more about the gospel as I prepare to teach but their sweet little testimonies help to strengthen mine!
