Hi I'm Tom.

I'm a Mormon. I was born and raised in Mesa, Arizona.

About Me

I love to garden and watch sports. When I was a younger dad I coached my own kids in sports and now as a grandfather I attend the games and watch my grandchildren from the lawn chair. I have 6 kids and 20 grandchildren. There is always a ballgame to attend. Arizona is a great place to garden because of our two growing seasons. One of my sons help me build raised garden boxes. I also garden using a self watering bucket process I learned from my brother.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a mormon because my father took me too church when I was a little boy. My mother wasn't a member, but my dad faithfully took me to church each week. My mother eventually joined the church because of my dad's faithfulness. One of the biggest reasons I'm a Mormon is because of my family's example. I've developed such great friendships and relationships with members of our church both as a young man and as an adult. I continue active participation in the church because I believe very strongly in the principals taught and espoused in the church. I know the Book of Mormon to be the word of God translated by the first prophet of this dispensation, Joseph Smith. Together with the Bible it points us in the right direction as we move forward as faithful Christians.

How I live my faith

Currently my wife and I volunteer each week to work in the Temple located in our area. We get up at 4:30 a.m. to serve in the Temple. This volunteer work brings us great blessings and satisfaction. Over the years I have worked primarily with the youth and young adults of our church. This service has been personally very rewarding and also enabled me to develop lifelong friendships with the youth I have served.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Tom.
Mormons value the Bible along with the Book of Mormon. They are both great books of scripture that testify of Jesus Christ. I know both books are valuable to me. Show more Show less
