Hi I'm Josh

I am a husband, father of four, an outdoor enthusiast, a law student, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in small town in the mountains of Arizona. I married the girl of my dreams and live in the big city close to her family. We have been married for eight years and now have four young children. I enjoy spending as much time in the outdoors as possible pursuing my hobbies of fly fishing, hunting, and snow skiing. I also enjoy sports such as soccer, racquetball, golf, softball, and pretty much everything else that involves a ball. I love spending as much time with my little family as possible as that is where I find the most joy and happiness in my life. I am currently a full-time law student, and work with a non-profit attorney that represents victims of domestic violence.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it gives me a purpose for my life. It has helped me overcome any and all challenges I have faced in my life by giving me the answers I need in order to overcome those challenges. My family means everything to me and because I'm a Mormon, I know first and foremost that my Savior loves me, and knows who I am, and is mindful of me and my family. This one piece of knowledge helps me face whatever challenges I face in life. The Gospel has also given me the knowledge that my family can be together not just here on earth, but forever if we are faithful to the teachings of Christ and remain faithful to Him. Though my life seems difficult at times because of school, or work or whatever keeps us so busy, the Gospel of Jesus Christ has always been my firm foundation upon which my life is built. Being a Mormon keeps me centered and focused on the true meaning of life and helps me remember what is truly important in life. Without this knowledge, I would be completely lost and unhappy. I know that by following Christ's example, I can find true happiness in life.

How I live my faith

Our Savior spent his life in the service of others. I know I cannot begin to compare to what He has done, but I try to follow His example. I am currently working my way through law school, which in and of itself is tough. But I am going to use the education I receive to help lift the burdens of others and help those that suffer. I have worked with an attorney who has spent the majority of his professional career aiding others for free. My plan is to continue to assist him in his work. I find it very rewarding and a worthwhile cause. A wise man once said "a lawyer is either a social engineer, or a parasite on society." I don't plan on being the latter. Life is short. There is no reason to focus on things that don't make us happy, especially those things we can't control. A smile or kind word goes a long way in helping others feel the love of Christ in an otherwise cruel world. I tend to be an eternal optimist and as such believe that there is something good in everything that happens to us, whether we reap those rewards in this life or the next.
