Hi I'm Adam McCleary

I'm and avid golfer, love good BBQ, speak Russian and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 24 years old and am attending Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah working on a degree in Geographic Information Systems. I love all kinds of sports like football, basketball, and I am down for any kind of pick-up game you can think of. I grew up in different parts of the U.S. like Tennessee, Utah, California and eventually ended up in Washington state. I am an Eagle Scout and I enjoy the great outdoors. I served as a Mormon Missionary in St. Petersburg, Russia for two years of my life and loved every second of it.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I realized how true the Gospel of Jesus Christ is while serving the Lord in Russia. Our calling was to teach people about a message that is truly unique. What sets our church apart from other churches is the message that we have a living prophet on the earth today. Christ set up His church in the New Testament on the foundation of prophets and apostles, and I believe that this foundation was restored. I believe in a loving God who loves all of His children. He expresses His love every day through the blessings we receive. One of the greatest blessings we have received is having a prophet on the earth who acts like a mouthpiece for The Lord. God has given us His word in the Old and New Testament, but I believe that having men on the earth who receive revelation from The Lord can help us further follow His teachings. This message makes sense to me. I know that God lives and loves us. He will not abandon us in our time of need. We may go through extremely difficult challenges in our lives, whether it be sickness or the loss of loved ones, but I know with confidence that God is there and hears our prayers. It is up to us to believe in Him. He will grant us with the strength we need to overcome whatever befalls us.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being a good example of charity to those around me and serving others. I am not perfect by any means, I am actually what one would expect of a 24 year old college student. I try to live every day as The Savior would live, and reach out to those in need of help. Opportunities exist everywhere, it is just my job to be ready to spring into action and help.
