Hi I'm Haley

I'm 15 years old and I've lived in Arizona all my life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been in school and ward choir for 5 years and I hope to have a career to become a singer like Carrie Underwood someday. I have played volleyball for 4 years in school and club and I hope to get a scholarship to Brigham Young University in Hawaii. I take Polynesian dancing lessons and perform in shows and I love it!

Why I am a Mormon

I love being Mormon! My nonmember friends say that we Mormons have a "glow" or a "vibe" that just makes them want to learn more about us. I couldn't think of living my life without the gospel. It has always been there for me and helped me in times of need. When I look around my room and see the pictures of Jesus and the temple on my walls, it always makes me so proud to be a member of this church. I try to be happy everyday and keep a smile on my face so I can be an example to others around me.

How I live my faith

I attend 3 hour church meetings every Sunday and go to 1-2 hour mutual activities every Wednesday. I never skip seminary and it is one of my favorite classes. It gives me such a great opportunity to feel the spirit through my hectic school day and remind me of my standards. Everyone in seminary understands me and has the same standards as me so it's easy for me to be myself around them. I read my scriptures every day and if I miss a day I catch up and read extra on the weekends. I have read the Book of Mormon 3 times, Doctrine and Covenants 2, and I am now working on the Old Testament for seminary this year. I try to write in my journal as often as I can and write my testimony in it so my children can one day read it and know what kind of teenager I was. I pray morning and night and read my Patriarchal Blessing often because it reminds me of my gifts and talents and helps me try to be better.

What is being a Mormon like?

Being Mormon is the greatest joy in my life. There are so many opportunities to do service and teach others by being Mormon. People often ask me why I am happy all the time and I simply say, "Life's too short to be unhappy. Because every 60 seconds spent upset is a minute of happiness I will never get back. Live life to the fullest because there's no point in being upset and holding grudges." I believe anyone can be happy even if they're not Mormon because all you have to do is look at the positive side of things and keep a smile on your face even if you are not having a good day.
