Hi I'm Jens

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am many things but the thing I love the most is being a husband to my amazing wife and a father of 4 great kids. I love sports, the great outdoors, and having fun. I am a university professor and I teach Spanish. I love languages and learning about the people who speak them. I grew up in Utah but I consider myself a citizen of the world and a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Lucky to have had The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up being taught by my parents, grandparents, and ancestors how much they loved the church and their savior Jesus Christ. They taught me with their examples of service and dedication to the gospel as well as with their love for others and by doing their best to live their lives as the Savior would. These lessons prepared me to take my own path to discovering why I am a Mormon. I am a Mormon because the principles I have learned and the experiences I have had as a Mormon have taught me that my Saviour, Jesus Christ, loves me and that his truth and his path for salvation for me and for my family can be found in the Church of Jesus Christ of latter Day Saints. The teaching I value most is the importance of the family in God's plan for us. My greatest joys in this life come because of my wife and children and knowing that we can be together forever.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing my best to bless the lives of others and give service. One of my families favorite activites is random acts of kindness. When we see that someone is having a hard time we try to find a nice thing we can do for them as a family and then annonymously do it. The kids love it and it is a pleasure to see them serve others and find such joy in it. In my community I help coach kids soccer and flag football as well as volunteering at schools and other service opportunities. As a Spanish speaker I use my skills to volunteer in the Hispanic community helping with translation and other language related issues.
