Hi I'm Maddie

I love the ocean, I'm a fan of grilled cheese and tomato soup, I always excited to travel, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love getting to know people. I love watching a person's face light up when they talk about a subject they truly care about. I love the opportunities I've had to interact with people in a variety of circumstances. Some of my best memories come from high school, university, church members, fellow doula students, family, friends, my tech support job, and my time as an in-home caregiver. I'm interested in school, church and work, and it's the interaction with genuine people that feeds my energy and gets me excited to go again. I am grateful that these people have been in my life and I value what I learned from my experiences with them.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon. I grew up in household and in an extended family where many were/are and I am grateful for their influence. However, there have been many times when I have questioned if I truly believed and if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints actually offered me truth. As I searched for my own answers by sincere prayer, I came to truly know I have a Father in Heaven. I believe He loves me and will answer my prayers. When I feel peace about this Gospel, I know He is answering my prayers. There have also been times in my life when the circumstances were such that I could not change or handle on my own. These are the moments I come to my Savior, Jesus Christ, the best. My testimony has been strengthened from the times when I reached out for help and I found very real comfort, peace, and guidance from heaven come to my aid. I love my Savior and am profoundly grateful to have found a place in His church and a sense of Home in his love, forgiveness, and grace.

How I live my faith

I do my best to live my faith by reaching out. I love making friends with a new person. I love visiting another sister from church during the week to see how she is doing. I am happy to find opportunities to share my testimony of something new I have learned. Some of my best memories come from coordinating events that bring the congregation together during the week, whether we are having a discussion of more serious matters or just playing a friendly game of volleyball. I find the source of my faith as I look to my Savior as I read about him in Holy Scripture. I feel close to God as I pray and try to keep His commandments and follow His counsel.
