Hi I'm Kim

I'm a perpetual student. I'm a self-declared artist. I'm a music lover. I'm a favorite aunt. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy learning. I love languages, science, art, music and literature. I'm intrigued by any creative endeaver and can often be found making something out of something else. I also try to spend as much time outside as possible hiking, biking and running. I love my family and I am blessed with good friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints my whole life so I attended church because that's what my family did. As I grew older, however, I had to decide if I really believed what I had been taught. As I have looked back on my life thus far, I realize that at those times when I was sincerely trying to live what I had been taught, I was more fulfilled and at peace with my life than I was when I was less committed. I have studied and prayed to receive assurance that what I have learned is true and that the life that I have chosen is what my Heavenly Father would want me to do. I continue to receive that assurance as I honestly seek truth and understanding. I know that we have a loving Heavenly Father who knows our individual needs. I know He sent His Son to die for us so that we could feel the Atonement's healing power in this life and return to live with God in the life to come. I know that the opportunities I have been given to make covenants and grow spiritually will help me to become what my Heavenly Father wants me to be.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through service and opportunities for service in the church abound. I currently work with the youth of my ward, serving as a Young Women leader. I am blessed as I observe these special girls and work with the other leaders to create an environment where the Spirit can be felt and testimonies of the gospel of Jesus Christ can be planted and nurtured. My membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has also helped me to develop a more loving understanding toward people in general. Because I feel the love of our Father in Heaven and the personal effects of the Atonement of Jesus Christ, I have a desire to treat those around me with deepened respect and love. I have a growing appreciation for service within and outside of my church membership and know that it brings me closer to the Savior.
