Hi I'm Kate

I'm an aspiring learner. I'm a music junkie. The BEST thing about me is my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My family is seriously the COOLEST!! I have one younger sister who I am super close to - growing up with her by my side has been a real blessing to me. We love to goof around, go shopping, make peanut-butter rice krispies, wear non-matching socks, build forts, watch movies until all hours of the night, and sing our favorite songs really loudly in the car. My parents have been a good example to me of honorable people who love to serve others and who will go out of their way to help someone in need. I love that about them - it has made me want to become just like them someday. There's not much more to me than my family - I do like to crack open a good book every now and then, I LOVE taking pictures, I'm kind of a big fan of music, and I just really appreciate how different people are. I'm so glad this world isn't boring!

Why I am a Mormon

The reason I know that this Church is true is because I have prayed and I have received countless answers to my prayers. When I feel lost, alone, discouraged, or downhearted, I can say a prayer and know that my Heavenly Father is listening to me - he knows me and is mindful of my situation. Through the whisperings of the Spirit, I learn what it is that I may need to do in order to improve my situation and improve myself. Answers to my prayers have never been awe-inspiring. They are small and simple. Sometimes I have just felt peace toward a certain aspect of my life. Other times I have had specific thoughts come to my mind that I know are not my own. These answers help me to do good things and help me to come closer to Christ and closer to my goal of living with my Heavenly Father someday.

How I live my faith

This life is tough! We all need a friend and someone who can be there for us and many times I have found that support through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints - whether it be through specific assignments I've had in the church, a kind gesture of someone in our congregation, or through earnest prayer to my Heavenly Father. This life really is the time to prepare to meet God and we know that in that preparation we have to prepare ourselves by becoming like Him. I can't do it alone - nobody can. I put my faith in the redeeming love of my Savior Jesus Christ and just try my best, each day, to be the kind of person that others can look to for help and support. Right now I am striving to do that in my own congregation and am constantly blessed by the good examples of the many other single adults around me. There really is no end to learning.
