Hi I'm Chiara

It takes me 45 minutes to make instant oatmeal. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada- not exactly a Mecca for high standards. Somehow, though, the pressure to do bad only made it easier for me to choose to do good. In the middle of my senior year of high school I moved up to little Rexburg, Idaho to live with relatives. Talk about a culture shock. And a weather shock. (What's this white stuff that covers the ground from November to May?!) I love being up here with people who believe the same way I do. Right now I am attending BYU-Idaho and loving it. My family back in Las Vegas is flourishing and my dad has been taking the missionary discussions. More than anybody, this is for him.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up "Mormon", but I can't lie and say that I really knew what that was. We went to church maybe two times a month, and when we did go, I always felt a little lost. When our family move to Las Vegas, my mom decided that it was time to do things the right way. I was ten at the time. It was a little hard at first to get in the groove of going every Sunday and doing things like fasting, but soon it became natural. I am a Mormon now because it gives me direction. I will never have to feel lost again because I have my Heavenly Father with me always. I love the way that it makes me feel to have that faith to fall back on, to know that there are more important things than the insignificant issues I sometimes overreact to.

How I live my faith

I am in a student ward here on campus. I just received my first calling ever. Exciting! It's great to participate in activities, church or otherwise, knowing that everyone you're rubbing elbows with has the same eternal goals and desires. I love being able to talk to friends about spiritual things and not have it get awkward.
