Hi I'm Jason Edwin Whiting

My family has been in the White Mountain area for generations working to build our communities and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to a wonderful woman and together we have 4 children two boys and two girls. We both grew up in NE Arizona but moved away for school, and a mission. We moved back about 7 years now and love being in Arizona. We are a young family who are active in our community and love raising our kids here among family and friends. In rural areas everyone pulls together and plays a part. We work hard to be a part of our community and serve where we can. Currently I am an insurance agent specializing in commercial insurance. While I work with many business owners in the area our company is a national company allowing me to work with clients all over the nation with various types of companies. I enjoy sports, fishing, hunting, golf, country, friends, family and learning about and serving Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a Mormon and my family has been part of the Mormon church for many generations on both my mother and fathers side of the family. My parents are good people who loved us and raised me and my siblings to love others and to serve God. I was able to see firsthand the gospel of Jesus Christ lived by and through family members who loved and cared for me. When I was 19 I lived on my own for the first time. I had to decide if I believed what I had been taught my whole life about Jesus Christ and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints (Mormonism). I could see good in what I was taught but I was never a kid that was comfortable believing things just because I was told to. I spent time studying the Bible, The Book of Mormon, and on my knees praying to the Lord for direction on what I should do. After diligent study and heart felt prayer I received answers to my prayers and know that God lives and that The Church or Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was true. I decided to follow in faith and while I stumble and make mistakes daily I know I can turn to the Lord and find peace and forgiveness for my sins. I know the Lord has sent others to support me and help me on my journey through life. I know that I have a Father in Heaven who loves and cares for me.

How I live my faith

I continue to work each day to be a better, son, brother, father, husband, church member, community member, and son of God. And while I often fail I know I can receive forgiveness through Christ and this empowers me to move on and to improve. I work hard putting in more than a 40 hour work week at the office. I serve on the local city council and on several committees in the local community. I have coached sports that my kids participate in and make time to enjoy my children. I make time to take my wife out on dates each month and together we look for opportunities to teach and serve our children. I understand the importance of family and the eternal nature of the family. I know that the bonds we create in this life don’t end here but can continue in the next life. As such I understand the magnitude of my role as a father and husband in our home. I try each day to do a little better and with the lords help we have a wonderful family that works, plays, and learns together.
