Hi I'm Camie

I once lived in the Micronesian Islands. I am a cancer survivor. I am a wife and mother of 3. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in San Diego, in a family with two loving parents and four sisters. After graduating High School, I earned a BS in Elementary Education from BYU. I served a mission in Micronesia Guam where I learned to love the people of those beautiful islands and I gained a great respect for their humble way of life. 15 years ago, I married my sweetheart, Jeromy. Just months after we were married I was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of cancer. The love and support of my husband and family along with their positive attitudes helped me through this difficult time. My faith in our Savior gave me strength to endure the darkest struggles of this battle. And because of many miracles that came through a loving Heavenly Father , I survived. Jeromy and I were then able to adopt two beautiful children, Jake and Breanna. We have very sweet relationships with both of their birthmoms who are dear friends to us. There is not a day that goes by that we don't think of them & thank our Heavenly Father for the blessing they have been in our lives. Four years ago, through yet another unbelievable miracle, we welcomed our son Luke into our home. So here I am, against all odds, living my childhood dream to be a stay at home mom. Words can't express how grateful I am for this blessing that at one point seemed an impossibility. Along with being a busy wife and mom, I enjoy reading, blogging, being outdoors and spending time with family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that the Savior lives and that he loves me. I know that he has a plan for me and my life. Part of that plan is for me to learn about Christ and to grow closer to Him. The Book of Mormon, like the Bible teaches us about Christ and His mission. It gives us a complete and full understanding of His gospel. I have read the Book of Mormon many times. I have felt peace and love as I read the words in it. It has given direction to my life. I know that the words in it testify of Jesus Christ. They inspire me to be a better, more Christlike person. As I have tried to follow the teachings of the Savior, I have found so much happiness. I have a better understanding that trials come to us to help us draw closer to the Lord and to make us stronger. I know that through Him we can get through any difficulty that life might throw our way. It is for these reasons I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Being a Mormon is more than just a Sunday thing. It is part of my everyday life. Whether it is daily prayer and scripture study, or spending Monday nights together as a family, the gospel of Jesus Christ is a constant in my life. Serving others is a huge part of living the gospel. I am involved in the church's Youth Program and I love working with so many bright young people. We meet every Sunday for Gospel study, and we also meet at least one other time during the week to do faith building activities, community service, or activities that help develop the talents of these young people. It is a blessing to be able to look outside myself and know that I am helping to make a difference in someone else's life. Some of the greatest happiness in my life has come from helping others and I am so grateful to be part of a church that constantly seeks out ways to serve others.
