Hi I'm laura

I grew up in California (but I am not a California girl-no blond hair, no tan!). I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mom of 4 young children. I LOVE to read and decorate. If I have a style it might be traditional thrift store pottery barn. My husband always says, some day we will take most of our furnishings back to the thrift store where we bought them! When I go back to school, I would like to study Early Childhood Education because I am amazed at the stockpile of information a child acquires before they are five years old! My days are spent cleaning some, washing some, and loving some.

Why I am a Mormon

There wasn't ever one big moment that made me think that being a Mormon was important to me; there was just lots of little moments. One thought that keeps coming to me is, Heavenly Father is aware of our hearts. He knows me. He knows what I am capable of, even if I forget myself. I can do some simple act of service and I feel blessed for it. God's economy isn't exactly even either. I always tell my kids, we can do ONE thing good and often it feels like He dumps a bucket of good things on us. It keeps me going.

How I live my faith

I go to church on Sunday. At the very least it feels good to listen to music and speakers after encouraging four little friends to eat and get on their Sunday-go-to-meet'n clothes. At the very most I fill up my empty heart and spirit after a week of the day to day stuff. I get to work and play with the 1 1/2 - 3 years old at church and it is a good feeling to give some of their first lessons of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and how they love us. I also visit with some other ladies during the month to see if they have any needs or share a gospel message as part of our women's program.
