Hi I'm Shane

I'm a teacher. I teach students from over 50 countries to be successful at American universities. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Since I was young, I have loved to read books and help other students to learn and grow. Becoming a teacher was a natural fit for me. I love helping students make a positive connection with the classroom and the world around them. I want students to succeed in the real world, and I love to see them become successful in business, education, and politics. My favorite courses are those in which I serve as a teacher trainer (recently I taught professors from Sichuan University). I am a published author, a stepdad, and a volleyball fanatic.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because, as I have done in so many other parts of my life, I studied hard. Through my careful study of the Bible and the Book of Mormon, I have come to know that the God of the Old Testament, the God of the New Testament, and the God of the Book of Mormon are indeed one and the same. To me, the discovery was so thrilling that I almost couldn't believe the discoveries I made as I read. It was an electric time in my life that I will never forget. I encourage anyone who reads this to do the same. If you do the work, and don't cheat the process, amazing things will happen to you.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be the best husband, father, friend, and teacher that I can be. I try to translate my fire and belief that God loves everyone of us even in my daily acts. This is a religion that inspires optimism and a love for all of God's children. It teaches values about honesty, kindness, and service. It makes me better and stronger in all aspects of my life.

Why is self-reliance important to Mormons? Why do Mormons talk about emergency preparedness?

Shane
I love the belief that we must become more and more like our Savior everyday. His perfect life gives us an example to try to live more perfectly in every aspect. I love the idea of preparing that is presented in the parable of the 10 virgins. It is not enough just to be someone, but to be someone worth something! Show more Show less
