Hi I'm Lou Kelsch

I'm a mormon and I am retired after working for the Boeing Company for 35 years

About Me

I am a Father of 5 children. I have been an active member of the Church since I was a small boy in Primary. I graduated from East High School in Salt Lake City in 1949, and went to the University of Utah. After one year my schooling career was interrupted by the Korean war and I joined the Air Force. While stationed in England I met and married my wife. We returned to Salt Lake in 1954 and I took employment with the Telephone company. Later I sought and obtained employment with the Boeing Company. I worked for Boeing for 35 years on defense programs. I worked on the Minuteman ballistic missile system, the B-52 program, the US Roland, SRAM, Lunar Orbiter and lastly the Cruise missle program, retiring in Jan 1990. During this time I served in a number of different positions in the Church.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I know the Church is true, and not because of the beliefs of my parents. I studied the cannon of scripture and learned for my self from a witness of the spirit ...it is true. I have a testimony of the only church on earth that is identical to the same Church Jesus Christ organized in the meridian of time. I have learned that I am a child of God and have been sent into this mortal experience to acquire a mortal body and to learn to prove myself. Just like any new convert to the Church I had to have faith in God, repent of my sins, be baptized and receive the gift of the holy Ghost by the laying on of hands by proper priesthood authority. I have been sealed in the Temple for time and all eternity to my wife and children, and look forward to returning home to my Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

During my Church career I have served in a number of wonderful callings as a volunteer. I have served as a missionary, in Priesthood quorums, as a Bishop, and as a High Councilman. I have also been priveledged to work in the Temple. The strongest motivation in my life is the desire to please my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He is my great exampler and has redeemed me if I but remain faithful for a few more years in mortality. I am a strong advocate for the principle of works and know with a certainty that even after all I can do to progress and grow I cannot save myself....I need the grace of God to be saved. I have learned that as old as I am, I am still a child, and need the infinate patience of my Father in Heaven. I know he lives, and that he loves me in spite of my short comings. I know I want to live with him after this brief time in mortality is over.... and experience the joy he has promised to those who love him. I love the earth he has created for me and hope always to remain with it as it too progresses to its destiny of Celestial glory. I know that God has plans of joy and progress in store for me that are breath taking and exceed anything I can imagine. My Lord and Savior is an immortal glorified being as is my Heavenly Father and they are two distinct and separate beings, and the Holy Ghost is a personage of spirit. I know that I lived in Heaven before I came here and that I met Fathers expectations and was advanced from a spirit personage to a mortal soul ( combination of spirit and body ), and am now working to become an immortal being just as my Father is.
