Hi I'm Joseph

I grew up in Utah and Virginia. I play league soccer a few times a week. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of two beautiful daughters. To keep my sanity, I enjoy playing league soccer and shopping for bargains on the internet. We like to travel and try to visit beautiful San Diego once a year and do a trip without the children at least once a year as well. There are so many lovely places to see, but we often visit Mexico as that is where our timeshare is.

Why I am a Mormon

I want to be a better person. There are so many good people with whom I interact daily at work and the through church that it helps reinforce those ideals. The weekly lessons at church are extremely helpful on being not just a better person, but a better dad, husband and better member of the community. Jesus left us a perfect example, but having good influences and friends with whom you can associate really helps me in my daily struggles.

How I live my faith

I am the ward clerk in my ward. I get to interact with the new members and the church leaders to make sure that all the other groups have the reports and information they need to best serve their members. I order the supplies for leaders, make sure the church's computer system has the most up-to-date information on the members. When someone gets a "calling" or assignment to assist the ward in a specific duty or responsibility, I update the system to reflect who is doing what. Every month I visit a few families in the ward to check on how they are doing, assess their spiritual needs and share a spriritual message. It is a good chance to provide service and make new friends.

What is the purpose of the welfare services of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

Joseph
There are times in all of our lives when, for reasons sometimes beyond our control, we need assistance. The church's welfare progam is designed to help people get back on their feet while they might be struggling. Since we also believe in the importance of hard work, those who are able are encouraged to work in order to receive the assistance they desire. It is also an opportunity to render service for those who want to give back to the community or just help others in need. Show more Show less
