Hi I'm Koria Jo Lewis

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Koria Lewis, I was born and raised in Mesa Arizona as a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My dad was a young convert to the church and my mother was raised a member her whole life. I have four sisters and one brother. I am the second youngest and we were all baptized by our dad, who holds the priesthood, into the church. My dad teaches for the church and has since I can remember so I was always taught very well in all of our beliefs. The church is everything in our home. I never doubted that the church was completely true. I always have known that. But I didn't always live as strong in the church as I thought my testimony was. I finished high school and lived in utah for a year and half going to school to be an aesthetician. There, living on my own is when I discovered how deeply I really felt about the church and how much I have always needed it and will always need it. I finished my school and got my license as an aesthetician. Then I moved home and prepared to serve a mission for the church. Those months of prepating really made me strong in my convictions. I served a mission in the Buenos Aires West mission in Argentina. I saw the gospel change peoples lives as well as my own. It was the most amazing experience and the best thing for my in my life. I now am just working and living the gospel; and sharing it when I can.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know and feel that it is true. I stand by my feelings. I have felt the spirit testify in ways too sacred to share or explain. I know with out a doubt that Jesus is the Son of God and the redeemer of the world. I know because of him I will live again, all of us will. Because he loves us, he wants everyone to belong to his church and grow closer to him and choose the right. He wants us to live the commandments. That is why we have the church, to help us return to him. We lived before we came here and God has a plan for us. We are here to experience this life and it is a test for us. No one is perfect so that is why before the earth was formed Jesus Christ was prepared to come and redeem us from our fallen state. He established his church and teachings but it was lost. But because God loves us and there are righteous men today called as prophets, one such restored all the truths that were lost. Joseph Smith saw God the Father and his Son Jesus Christ. I know he did because I have felt that it is true. I know that he restored the priesthood and that is why the church exists and is true, we have the power to baptize and be sealed to one another in our holy temples. I know one day I will be sealed to my eternal companion in the temple under the Holy Priesthood power. It is all true and it is the reason I am happy and have hope in this life and the life to come. I love the way I feel when I learn about the gospel and I know that those feelings are what carry my conviction and my testimony. I feel it every sunday at church and when I read the scriptures. The Holy Bible and the Book of Mormon. Together they witness of Jesus Christ and teach us all we need to help us return to him. Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon and it si further proof of this great church being true. That is why I am Mormon, I need the priesthood, the book of mormon, the phophet, the temple, and the truth. I feel it and know it is true. I can't deny it. I know it is true!

How I live my faith

I try just like every one else to do what is right. I am not perfect and I mess up all the time. But I try to be an example of the Lord and share his message when I can. I miss being a full time missionary, but I am ward missionary and I try to do my part. I try to keep the commandments of God. I know I am blessed and happy when I do. I try and serve others. I wish I could do more, I really want to be like Jesus Christ. It is hard but always worth it to live my faith.
