Hi I'm Steve

I am a husband, father, grandfather, police officer and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up on a cattle ranch. I learned many of life’s lessons from my dad on the back of a horse. My family is my hobby, I love spending time with them. I enjoy sports of all kinds, but I love watching football and bull riding. I enjoy camping. I love cooking with my dutch ovens or my BBQ. My family likes the cooking to. Whatever the activity it’s most fun when I am doing it with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it helps me to be the best person I can be. Through the teachings of Jesus Christ, I am a better husband, father and grandfather. I grew up a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have ancestors who came across the plains as pioneers for their faith. However I still had to learn and gain a testimony of Jesus Christ. When I was a young man, I had the opportunity to find out for myself Jesus Christ is my Savior and his gospel is true. The knowledge of Jesus Christ has changed my life. I have spent my adult life working as a police officer. I have worked in many capacities in law enforcement. I have seen the worst that society has to offer. As a result I have experienced the depression and hate. Having the gospel of Jesus Christ has helped me to separate myself from the despair of the world to see others as our Savior sees them. It has also helped me to not be drawn into the darkness out in the world. I have been led by the Holy Ghost and received protection from his promptings. I am a Mormon because through my faith I can experience all the joys this life has to offer and strive to reach my full potential.

How I live my faith

Each day I start my day with prayer. It helps me to focus and be the very best I can be. I end each day the same way. I try to find ways to give acts of service wherever I can. This is what the Savior would do. I try to be happy and share the happiness the gospel of Jesus Christ brings. I want others to feel the joy I have been given as a recipient of the Saviors atonement. I want my life to reflect my Savior’s love. I even try to bring humor to life - look around Heavenly Father has a sense of humor. At work I try to be the best I can. I want others to question why I am the way I am. This gives me opportunities to share the message about Christ. I treat my family and friends how I would like to be treated with love and respect. I serve in my church and have done so all my life. I have held many positions and always say yes to service. I even served a mission in Tallahassee, Florida for two years. In each calling I try to be involved and make others feel involved. I try to lift and support others wherever possible. Each month I visit families in my area and bring them a spiritual message. I try to get to know them and be their friend. In all that I do I always end up being blessed in so many ways and each day I start all over trying to repay the gift.
