Hi I'm Caree

I play piano and am a student pilot. I love adventure, traveling, and skiing.

About Me

I am a senior in high school and am looking forward to college. I have been raised in the LDS (Mormon) church. With encouragement from church youth programs, I have learned to do many things, like how to sew, embroider, knit and crochet. I love to travel with my family. My dad is a privet pilot so he has been teaching me how to fly. I also enjoy playing piano and sharing my talents.

Why I am a Mormon

In high school many wonder who they are, but I don’t. I know because of my faith, the daughter of God who I am, and the woman I can become. This has a feeling of confidence a power that is associated with it which motivates me to be steadfast in my religion. Another reason is I love the feeling of God’s love that comes from following his commandments. With His love I know he won’t leave me in rigorous times, because life isn’t perfect.

How I live my faith

I played organ for church services for two years and have previously served as sectary and president among my peers. I attend seminary, an hour long scripture study program, with other youth in my area each morning at 7am before I head off to school. I love my Savior, Jesus Christ so I use him as my example throughout my day. He has done enormous amount for me, and I want to show him that I can do things for him by serving others

What is being a Mormon like?

Caree
Some may assume we are forced to things. We choose though. I know when I make a decision there are consequences. Everything I have acted upon from counsel from leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has benefited me positively and has brought joy into my life. Show more Show less

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Caree
No. Everyone can choose for themselves, just like anything else in life, but young men are strongly encouraged to serve a two year mission and can go at the age of 18. Young women are also allowed to serve at the age of 19. Serving a mission can change one's life for the better. Show more Show less

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

Caree
We don't hold the priesthood because that is how God set it up. Despite priesthood responsibilities we do just about anything else. I have not felt limited by this at all. We also lead in the church's organizations for women, young women, and children. The programs the church has for women are incredible and help us become better daughters of Heavenly Father.
