Hi I'm Lora

I'm a Nebraska gal. I'm a mom. I love to run. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Born and raised in Nebraska, I am used to hot summers, bone-chilling winters and intense college football fans. I'm a mom of three girls. My husband and I love our little family. I work part-time as a server at a nearby steakhouse. I enjoy talking with people, so it is a great outlet for me. With two girls in school and in soccer, a baby crawling around, jobs, and volunteering our time at church, life is pretty busy for us, but we love it. A good workout will put in a great mood any day. I love to run! I love to read, eat dessert and play with my family. My family is the most important thing to me. I try to cherish every moment with them.

Why I am a Mormon

As a little girl, I remember my parents taking me to Catholic mass. My mom had faith in God but was always searching for more. I was 10 when the missionaries came to our home. My mom and I visited with them and eventually she decided to be baptized. She told me it was my decision to be baptized or not. I said I wasn't sure how to know if this church was true. Yet, when my mom asked me what I believed about the Book of Mormon, I knew what I read was from God. I prayed to my Heavenly Father to know what I should do. I remember being overwhelmed with a warm feeling in my heart. At 10 years old, I didn't know much about searching for truth, but I did know the Book of Mormon was true. I did know that what the missionaries were teaching me was right. I knew then that I wanted to be baptized. As I've grown up, my testimony of this gospel has grown. I'm a mormon because I believe in my Savior, Jesus Christ. I know that our families can be together forever. I know that we have a prophet of God on the earth today. I know the Book of Mormon is true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith today by teaching my children about our Heavenly Father and about Jesus Christ. I want them to know that they are daughters of God and that He loves them. I attend church and teach young women Sunday lessons. I help to plan and attend activities for our youth. I do my best to live my religion each day. I try to love everyone I meet. I'm a child of God. I'm a Mormon.
