Hi I'm Mark

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a military family, moving every three years. This provided a great opportunity to see different parts of the world and meet a lot of terrific people. I attended high school in Utah and then started my career in law enforcement. I am married and we have four wonderful children. A few years ago our family moved to Nebraska. I have been a mormon all my life.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints all their lives. I was born into the church, but that is not why I continue to remain a member. All of my life I have believed in God and his son Jesus Christ. I have never doubted the existence of either. However, it was not until I read the Book of Mormon and prayed about its teachings that I received a confirmation of its truthfulness. The spirit of the Lord touched me with such fervor that I could not contain my emotions. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and through him God restored His church on the earth. All the blessings in my life are a result of my membership in His church. I am thankful to my Heavenly Father for the eternal love he has for each of us. I am thankful to Him for his willingness to send his only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to atone for the sins of the world. I am thankful he knows me and continually blesses my life.

How I live my faith

I am a Scoutmaster for the BSA. Our troop is chartered through the LDS church. I find that the scouting program and the teachings of the church go hand in hand. The best way I can show my love to my Heavenly Father is to keep His commandments. I work hard to do this, although I am far from perfect. Everyday I strive to do what is right, and thank God for all the blessings in my life.
