Hi I'm Jonathan

I'm a Mormon. Member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

About Me

I served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormons) in Chicago Illinois. I've studied biology, chemistry, anatomy and some physics but my heart loves history. I like playing the guitar and singing. I've been in several stage theater productions and appreciate the Arts. I also love to study the Human mind and behavior. I've done personal studies in the areas of counseling and addiction recovery, but i am not a professional. I love to read and usually have lots of time to do so because i suffer from a sleeping disorder. My wife and I love to play games and spend time with family when we get the chance. I love my wife and her patience with me.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised by faithful Mormon parents and have a long ancestry of faithful mormons as well. However I learned early on about my own choice to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ outlined by the mormon church and what a stark contrast of feelings and frustration of success I experienced when i made decisions not to follow his teachings. As I've grown older and gained knowledge in schooling outside of religious settings my conviction in the teachings I was raised with have solidified. I have prayed many many times throughout my life and have always been assured that God is there and He is a loving Parent. He has never failed to show approval or guidance of my choices big or small. Sincere prayer has always been the key. I recognize that the World leans to embrace understanding as long as there is tangible proof but, prayer is one of those actions that to be understood just needs to be tried and the evidence will always suprise the humble and be as tangible to the soul as anything seen or felt. And yet it will always be the hardest to explain or share with the skeptic, but the answer to a prayer is not for the skeptic but for the prayerful.

How I live my faith

I live my Faith by being always honest with those I come in contact with. By being a reliable friend to those in need or otherwise. By being self-less in serving the needs of those around my community and those I may never see in this life. By always being at the ready and never trying to assume that because I know that God is real that I know all there is to know about everything. By knowing that if I sincerely pray I can know the answers to somethings. Most of all I can live my faith by sharing that anyone can approach God to find answers and that God knows the beginning from the end and He loves all his children.
