Hi I'm Austin

I was born and raised in the LDS church. I am now a husband, father, and a doctor in the U.S. Air Force. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I had a crush on a beautiful girl when I was in the second grade, little did I know that I would eventually fall in love and mary her. I was 21 years old when I re-met her at a country dance and four long months later we were married in the Salt Lake Temple. My wife and I have 6 beautiful daughters and I now work as a family medicine doctor in the U.S. Air Force.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was deciding to enter the Air Force my wife and I listed the pros and cons. We already had 2 daughters and I was accepted to medical school. We did not know everything about being an officer in the military, but we knew enough to make an educated decision. After a lot of thought we decided that I would not join the military. Only after a few days later my wife and I were praying and we both felt that God's will was that I join the Air Force and we have been at peace with that decision because we believe that God knows what is best for us. In a similar way I have prayed and know that God has answered my prayers that this is the true church of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

As a doctor in the military I get to meet new people every day. With the knowledge that we are all children of God I am able to keep perspective when I care for people that may have very difficult medical conditions. People may often be frustrated or scared about their health, and sometimes a reminder that God loves and knows them can make a big difference. I feel grateful to be able to serve my savior as I serve his children other children.
