Hi I'm Janet

I'm a Mormon. I am a retired teacher. I love music, reading, quilting, cooking, and am enjoy our retirement.

About Me

My husband and I have eight children who are all grown and married, so I am enjoying our grandchildren even though many of them are scattered throughout the country. I enjoy working on our family history and am currently trying to organize our family pictures for posterity.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Disciples of Christ (Christian) church. When I was in my early thirties I became interested in learning about the many different religions and churches. About that time a couple of sister missionaries called on me and I became interested in investigating the church. It took me about two weeks to read the Book of Mormon and shortly thereafter I gained a testimony that the church is the true church and I was baptized soon after. Since then my testimony has continued to grow as I have served in the church. I know the church is true. I love the Book of Mormon and the way it works with the Bible to teach the truth. I am grateful for all the blessings that have come to me through my membership in the church.

How I live my faith

I have served in the church in various positions throughout the years of my membership, doing whatever was asked of me from serving in leadership positions to teaching at various times in all the different classes from children to adults. I am grateful for the growth that has come because of the service I have performed. Because of my husband's health problems I am currently serving in small ways with family history, visiting teaching and other things I can do while we are home bound.
